Approved!

We are finally approved by CARA (India’s central adoption agency)!

With the global pandemic (Covid -19) disruptions, it took us over 7 months to get the approval from India. To note, once we register with CARA, we are already in the waiting list for a match / referral for a child. However, approval is the official step to be declared eligible to adopt a child from India. Also, we are allowed to register with CARINGS (online portal) to check our status, and importantly, see if there is any child in our category available for immediate placement. At this time, we could not find any child in immediate placement that is in our age range.

So, our wait continues…

Applied to CARA

Our journey has begun…

We have applied to CARA ( India’s Central Adoption Resource Authority) almost a month ago! Currently, we are waiting for their approval. As per our adoption agency in the US, it may take a couple of months to get approval from CARA.

Next steps, after approval from CARA, we can register with CARINGS (Child Adoption Resource Information and Guidance System).
